Slow Play – Hints & Tips
Chilwell Manor Golf Club
One of the most common frustrations in golf is slow play. At Chilwell Manor Golf Club, we want everyone to enjoy their round at a comfortable and enjoyable pace without feeling rushed.
By making a few simple changes to the way we play, we can all help improve the flow of the course while still fully enjoying our game.
We kindly ask all members and visitors to follow these simple guidelines:
- Please arrive at the tee at least 10 minutes before your booked tee time and be ready to play promptly.
- To maintain momentum, nominate a player in your group to tee off first on each hole.
- Complete your scorecard while others are preparing to play rather than waiting for the entire group to finish.
- Always look for and play your own ball first before helping others search for theirs.
- Keep pace with the group in front, not simply ahead of the group behind.
- Be ready to play when it is your turn. Select your club and prepare for your shot while others are playing. Ready Golf is encouraged whenever it is safe to do so.
- If your group is delayed looking for a ball or loses ground on the course, please invite the group behind to play through where appropriate.
- If your group falls more than a hole behind, make every effort to regain position.
- Around the greens, leave bags and trolleys on the side closest to the next tee to ensure a smooth exit from the hole.
- Once play is completed on the 18th hole, please move clear of the green promptly and complete scorecards away from the immediate area.
By following these simple guidelines, we can all help maintain a good pace of play and ensure everyone enjoys their round at Chilwell Manor Golf Club — with plenty of time left to relax and enjoy the clubhouse afterwards.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
