Festive Competitions - Due to the way the Bank Holiday dates fall this year it has been decided that the following competitions will take place.

1. Xmas Eve - this will be a Pro competition, pay and return cards to the Professional Shop.

2. Boxing Day - no competition.

3. New Year's competition will be held on Monday 2nd January 2012 and the format will be a Texas Scramble for both the Men and the Mixed.

Inactive Handicaps - during the update of 2011 data - members not having played the requisite amount of 3 cards in strokeplay or supplementary scores will have shown against their name the letter  i  indicating inactive handicap.

To assist members a sheet will be boarded showing the members who are affected.  Any members who are affected will then be required to submit 3 cards - please place these in the cabinet marked for "Handicap".

Any member who is able to complete the number of cards required by supplementary scores prior to January 1st - I will submit and enter on the system - which will then have the Inactive initial removed.

The above was held at Chilwell on Sunday 12th June 2011, between Chilwell, Longcliffe and Stanton, unfortunately the weather gods were not kind to the players, however, they all played their golf and finished the competition. Well done to all the players The best individual score was returned by David Solloway with 36 points, excellent score under the circumstances.

The winners with an overall team score of 418 points were, Chilwell Manor. Congratulations team, only our second time of winning the Trophy.

Thanks to all who supported and gave their time on the day.

Having played and reviewed the present playing conditions of the course, the County have agreed my request to re-introduce Pick and Place for all competitions and social golf, from Saturday 11th June until Saturday 25th June inclusive, this will then be re-assessed with the County and members will be advised.

There will be a Tri-Centenary Match between Chilwell, Longcliffe and Stanton on the Wolds, at Chilwell on the above date.

This match consists of 48 players, playing off 16 tees.  Therefore, the whole course will be closed at 1.30pm.

We would respectfully request that members vacate the course at this time.  The course will be re-opened at approximately 6.30pm

We will advise you if there are any changes.  This event takes place every 3 years at Chilwell.

Our Chilwell team players who played at Coxmoor on Monday 9th May were Jack Prescott III, Mike Gannon, Drew Marshall, George Constance and Martin West, having acquitted themselves well, unfortunately lost to Coxmoor.

However, on Monday 16th May at Chilwell our team of David Elliott, Jack Prescott III, Drew Marshall, Mike Gannon and Martin West won against a very good team from Beeston Fields.  Good work team.
