1. Supplementary Scores cannot be submitted by Category 1 players.
2. In order to qualify for the return of a Supplementary Score a player must have returned only 6 or less qualifying scores (excluding Supplementary Scores) in the previous year. A Supplementary Score may only be returned at the Home Club of the player.
3. An acceptable supplementary score is any authenticated score over 18 holes under Competition Play Conditions over a Measured Course. (White Tees) (i.e. not when there are more than two temporary greens or if the course is shortened by more than 100 yards). The format may be stroke play or stableford.
4. Up to 10 supplementary scores can be submitted during the calendar year, but not more than 1 per week.
5. Players must signify their intention to return a card by entering the details in a book located in the Professional Shop prior to playing. Cards must be returned to the Professional Shop. (Failure to return a card is classified as a No Return).
In order to have an “Active Handicap” you must submit a minimum of 3 qualifying scores in the previous year. If your handicap becomes “Inactive” you can then submit sufficient Supplementary Cards for your handicap to become “Active”.

2010 Playing Season Update
New Handicap Computer System
The Conversion from DJB Computer Software to Club 2000 System for the Men is to all intents and purposes complete.
Members will notice the following changes now that Club 2000 has captured all DJB Data and converted to their System.
1. The DJB Handicap Computer No from your point of view has become defunct but is still being used from the Administration side.
2. We have now registered all male members with the EGU Central Handicap Database, each member has a unique number allocated by the EGU whether your Handicap is inactive or active.
3. This unique number cannot be boarded in the Clubhouse, but can be obtained from the Match Secretary. Also this is displayed on individual handicap certificates in the bottom left hand corner. If you would like further information on this go to www.englishgolfunion.org.
4. Inactive/Active Handicaps
If you did not return 3 qualifying scores during 2009 your handicap will be Inactive. This means you will be unable to compete in Opens and some Club Trophies, however, for the coming season I have decided that the following exceptions will be allowed during this transitional period. Bank Holiday Competitions, Captain's Week Compeitions, Bill Peach Trophies, Long Driving for both Men and Juniors, Rabbit Competition and Spring Invitation. Also, medals are excluded, therefore participating in Qualifying Medals although you cannot win them, will result in you re-activating your handicap.
Computer
During the next few weeks competitors playing in the Professional's Competitions will be asked to submit their scorecard onto the Computer to test the New System prior to commencement of the Qualifying Medal on 27th March.
Members of the Match Team will be available to assist members with the New System. May I take this opportunity in advance to thank the members for their co-operation during this transitional period.
On behalf of the Match Team may we wish all members good golf in the forthcoming season.
Opens and Invitations
Would members please be aware that all Opens and Invitations are up and running and are included on the Website.
Inter County Cards Scheme
Inter County Cards will be available to members again from the 1st April 2010 if members wish to purchase a card you can let me know either by email alrobbie1@btinternet.com or by direct contact. The cost will be £15 reduced to £10 if more than 20 join. Several more clubs have joined the scheme and the lists can be found on www.nottsgolfunion.com
