JUNIOR NEWS LETTER

Junior coaching with Luke will commence from this Thursday 8^th December at Trent Lock Driving Range from 7 – 8pm.

 All Juniors are welcome. 

• The next Junior Medal will be held on Wednesday 21^st December, first tee off at 11:00am. Please ensure your name is on the entry sheet (in the Spike Bar) as soon as possible. 

• The Junior Medal scheduled for 28 December has been replaced by a “Dads versus Lads” competition, same time.

   
• There will be a Junior Open at Chilwell in 2012. Entry forms are on the Junior Notice Board – please complete your form as soon as possible to get the best tee times!

Last Sunday saw the Chilwell Manor Juniors complete their 2011 season with their final league match at Mapperley Park.

For those golfers who have experienced the Mapperley course they can appreciate that this was very much an "up and down" match.

The team finished with a well earned 3 - 3 draw and thanks has to go to the fighting spirit of our Junior Team.

This final point gained, has enabled the team to move into the top spot of the First Division, albeit other team match results are awaited for the final league placings.  Nevertheless, we must congratulate the efforts of our small junior squad for what they have achieved this year.

May we take this opportunity to thank all those who helped the Juniors this year, notably, Alan Harrison for his match support and transport, financial support from Nigel Smith and the Captain, Vicky Roberts for the website updates, Paul and Luke for the coaching and anyone else we may have omitted.

Finally, we are desperately low on junior members - the future lifeblood of any golf club!

If any club members have any juniors that are interested in joining or learning to play golf, please contact either of the following.

On Sunday 25th September our Juniors played their league match against Trent Lock.

Well done to our Juniors for winning the match.

The last match will be played against Mapperley at Mapperley on Sunday 9th October at 1pm.

Your support will be welcome.

The above was held on Sunday 18th September 2011 and the results are as follows.

1st.   Carole Heath, Rosemary Jones, Snupe Sharma and Adam Dorricott with a score of 53.5.

2nd.  Steve Maltby, Alison Maltby, Jeff Elliott (Captain) and Charlie Ness with a score of 54.0.

3rd.   Ron Owen, Gary Meekins, Gary Evans and Chris Thomas with a score of 54.1.
